Thai Woman Survives Two-Hour Struggle with 16-Foot Python While Doing Dishes

Arom Arunroj, a 64-year-old Thai woman, narrowly escaped death after a 16-foot python attacked her while she was washing dishes at her home near Bangkok.

On Tuesday night, September 17, Arom felt a sharp pain in her thigh, only to discover that the massive snake had coiled around her waist, squeezing her for nearly two hours.

“When I looked, I saw the snake wrapping around me,” she told local media.

For 90 minutes, Arunroj was forced to prop herself against her kitchen door while screaming for help.

A neighbor eventually heard her cries and alerted authorities, who rushed to the scene.

Rescuers had to strike the python on the head with a crowbar to release the woman from the deadly grip.

Although the snake inflicted several bites, Arunroj survived the terrifying ordeal without serious injury.

The python managed to slither away before being captured by authorities.

While snake encounters are common in Thailand, attacks like this are rare.

The incident serves as a reminder to stay vigilant and alert, especially in areas where wildlife encounters could occur.

“We should always be mindful of our surroundings and help others in distress,” a first responder said.
