The tragic death of 14-year-old Isabelle Vezina-Dykeman has left a Vermont family shattered and very heartbroken, hoping for a big and great miracle.
Isabelle, a freshman at Mill School in Winooski, took her life on September 15 after enduring relentless bullying about her appearance and her mother’s health condition.
She must have always been disturbing news for her but has always had to hold the pain, thinking that there would definitely be a better day.
The teen was reportedly teased by classmates at school and through cruel text messages about her mother, Heather Miller, who had undergone brain surgery that left her right eye shuttered, which is a side effect of the treatment.
“She was excited about the school year, excited about being a freshman, Miller told WCAX.
She described her daughter as
“spunky,” outgoing, and someone who “loved to dance” and ice skate. She stated.
However, the relentless bullying took its toll, and just 35 minutes after returning home from school visibly upset, Isabelle tragically ended her life due to the pain she could no longer endure.
The Mill School is investigating the bullying claims and has issued a statement saying,
“We, at the Mill School, have been devastated by the loss of one of our students.”
Isabelle’s organs were donated, saving the lives of seven people, including another child who received her eyes for treatment to get better.
