Abuja Hotel Staff Save Woman from Alleged Ritual Attempt, Man Arrested

A woman whose name was not disclosed narrowly escaped a tragic fate after hotel staff at a Wuse Zone 5 hotel in Abuja heard her screams and rushed into her room to find her tied up and n@ked, allegedly for ritual purposes.

The shocking incident, which occurred today, September 18, 2024, has sparked outrage and serves as a reminder of the dangers that some women face in the pursuit of personal and economic stability just to make ends meet.

The hotel staff was so sensitive, and so she acted quickly after hearing the woman’s cries for help, only to discover that her hands, legs, and neck had been bound with sellotape by a male guest who had checked into the room with her.

The man, whose motives are suspected to be ritualistic, was immediately confronted by the staff to derive details from him.

In a video circulating online, the staff can be heard chastising both the woman for going with the man and the man for his actions.

“This is a lesson for all women,” one of the hotel staff said. “Not all that glitters is gold.”

The incident highlights the importance of vigilance and safety when meeting people in uncertain circumstances.

While the reasons behind the man’s actions remain speculative, the dire economic conditions in Nigeria are pushing some individuals to extreme measures, further raising concerns about the nation’s deteriorating economic and social climate.
