Nicki Minaj Calls Out Jay-Z for Snubbing Lil Wayne in Favor of Kendrick Lamar for Super Bowl 2025 Halftime Show

Rapper Nicki Minaj took to social media to express her outrage after Jay-Z, in charge of the Super Bowl halftime selection, chose Kendrick Lamar over Lil Wayne to headline the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans.

The decision sparked criticism, especially given Wayne’s legendary status in the rap game and his connection to New Orleans, his hometown.

Minaj, upset by the snub, accused Jay-Z of acting out of personal bias and holding grudges.

“Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego.

Your hatred for Birdman, Drake, and Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?! Lil Wayne! The GOAT! Nola, what’s good?!” Minaj posted on X.

She went on to emphasize Lil Wayne’s pivotal role in shaping the hip-hop industry and questioned why Jay-Z, despite his success, would act out of what she described as “spiteful and evil” behavior.

Minaj urged the industry to give legends like Lil Wayne their due respect while they’re still alive, calling out the practice of sidelining artists who have given so much to the culture.

She concluded by asking fellow artists to speak up against wrongdoings, warning that the truth must be acknowledged and that the mistreatment of icons will one day hurt those responsible.
