Trump stirs controversy: Civilian Award Outshines Medal of Honor

Former U.S. President Donald Trump sparked controversy by stating that the Presidential Medal of Freedom is “much better” than the Medal of Honor, given to soldiers because civilian recipients are alive and unharmed.

Speaking at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, Trump emphasized the value of life and freedom, contrasting it with the sacrifices of soldiers who receive the Medal of Honor, often posthumously or with severe injuries.

“They’re either in very bad shape because they’ve been hit so many times by bullets, or they’re dead,”

Trump’s statement, highlight his appreciation for being able to serve without physical scars, unlike many soldiers.
