Court Orders Substituted Service on Naira Marley, Sam Larry in Pursuit of Justice for Mohbad’s Death

In the ongoing inquest into the death of singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, a coroner’s court in Ikorodu, Lagos State, has ordered substituted service on key witnesses, including Azeez Fashola (aka Naira Marley) and Samson Eletu (aka Sam Larry).

This move, approved by Magistrate T. A. Sotobi on August 16, aims to secure the presence of these individuals in court to provide crucial testimony regarding the circumstances leading to Mohbad’s controversial death on September 12, 2023.

The legal team representing Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, stressed the importance of these testimonies in uncovering the truth and settling the drama surrounding the late singer’s death.

The court also agreed to recall Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, and the investigating police officer, ASP Muhammad Yusuf, to clarify new issues that have arisen.

Though Akinpelu Ogunbona, the attorney representing Ibrahim Owodunni, also known as Primeboy, contested the application, pointing out that in order to provide a full picture of the singer’s death, Wunmi and the police needed to address fresh concerns.

However, as a result, the coroner postponed the order’s compliance and the witnesses’ appearance in court to the following postponed day.

As the inquest continues, the goal remains to ensure justice for Mohbad, bring peace to his memory, and provide closure for his family by officially clearing any lingering doubts or accusations.
