Security Forces Rescue 20 Abducted Medical Students in Benue State

Twenty medical students who were kidnapped last Thursday in Benue State have been successfully rescued, thanks to the determined efforts of Nigeria’s security agencies.

The operation, which was coordinated by the office of the National Security Adviser, involved the police, the Department of State Services (DSS), and military personnel, with vital support from the Benue State government.

The convoy of two buses carrying the students was ambushed by bandits around 5:30 p.m., leading to their capture.

Following the abduction, the kidnappers quickly contacted the victims’ families, demanding a ransom of ₦50 million for their release.
