Neo Akpofure, a former Big Brother Naija star, has hit back at critics who doubted the authenticity of his grass-to-grace story.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Neo shared photos from five years ago when he was working as a Bolt driver, including one where he picked up Nigerian singer MC Galaxy.
However, some users on the platform accused Neo of trying too hard to appear relatable, pointing out that he comes from a wealthy family.
One user remarked, “Person wey him papa get money, dey there dey bobo us,” while another commented, “Guy rest nau, you’ve never been poor.”
In response, Neo defended his journey, emphasizing that his success was the result of his own hard work and determination, independent of his father’s wealth.
He replied directly to several critics and later shared a general tweet addressing the negativity:
“Woke up to a bunch of rants from ignorant people who sit on their asses and have no idea what it means to have seen their dreams come true.”
Neo’s post, intended as a motivational message to encourage others not to give up on their dreams, was met with mixed reactions, highlighting the challenges celebrities face when sharing personal stories online.
