“He’s a good tennis player,” Trump stated before describing how someone rushed to Barron with the terrifying news, shouting, “Barron! Barron! Your father’s been shot!”
Trump revealed that his 18-year-old son reacted with immediate concern, rushing to find his mother, Melania Trump.
“He loves his father. He’s a good kid, good student, good athlete actually — and he ran, ‘Mom! What’s going on? What’s going on?’” Trump said.
Melania, who had been watching the rally live on television, was equally shocked by the events unfolding before her eyes.
Trump recalled how he quickly reassured the public by raising his fist in the air after being tackled to the ground by Secret Service agents, letting everyone know he was unharmed.
“I let people know I was OK. But it was a hit, it was a big hit.”
