Selena Gomez Opens Up About Inability to Carry Children, Emphasizes Hope Through Surrogacy and Adoption

Selena Gomez, in a heartfelt new interview, revealed that she is unable to carry her own children due to medical issues.

The 32-year-old actress shared with “Vanity Fair” that her lupus diagnosis and kidney transplant, which she underwent in 2017, make pregnancy life-threatening for both her and a baby.

“I unfortunately… have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy,” she explained. “That was something I had to grieve for a while.”

In spite of this personal challenge, Gomez remains hopeful and optimistic about motherhood due to the fact she never for once gave up.

She expressed gratitude for the alternatives available to her, including surrogacy and adoption in all possible ways.

“It’s not necessarily the way I envisioned it,” she said, “but I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.”

Through her revelation, Gomez hopes to offer encouragement to others facing similar struggles to all stand strong in their positions.

Her message emphasizes that even in the face of fertility challenges, there are still paths to motherhood, reminding individuals to remain hopeful and seek strength in alternative solutions instead of beating themselves up for not giving birth to a child.
