A Norwegian tech expert, Rinson Jose, 39, has been accused of being involved in financial transactions related to the purchase of pagers used in bombings targeting Hezbollah militants in Lebanon on September 18, 2024.
Jose, originally from India, was the owner of a Bulgarian shell company that reportedly facilitated a £1.3 million deal to acquire the pagers, part of a complex Mossad-orchestrated operation.
He has since gone missing, leaving for a pre-planned business trip the day before the explosions.
Jose’s primary employer, Norwegian media conglomerate NHST, has been unable to reach him since his departure.
The company alerted Norway’s domestic intelligence service, prompting an investigation into his alleged involvement in the deadly blasts.
Oslo Police District confirmed a preliminary investigation is underway but declined to provide further details.
“We are aware of the information but have no comment on the matter as of now,” said police spokesperson Unni Grøndal.
Authorities in Kerala, India, where Jose is originally from, stated they have not received any official data confirming his involvement.
TK Vinod Kumar, Kerala’s Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence), stated,
“If the reports are verified, Kerala Intelligence will look into this matter immediately.”
The case raises significant concerns about the misuse of technical expertise in international terrorism, with many calling for stricter regulations and penalties for tech professionals involved in such activities.
