Edo Guber: I Won’t Take a Bribe, Even for 1 Billion Naira – INEC National Commissioner Prof. Rhoda Gumus

INEC National Commissioner for Edo State, Prof. Rhoda Gumus, has firmly stated that she will not accept bribes to manipulate the outcome of the upcoming governorship election, which will occur soon in the state.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV, Prof. Gumus emphasized her commitment to ensuring the election process remains free, fair, and credible for accountability’s sake.

She reassured voters that her reputation for integrity makes it impossible for anyone to approach her with illicit offers.

Prof. Gumus boldly declared, “I cannot take bribes no matter how much. I don’t have to take billions to do what is right.

Nobody will try me.”

She highlighted her proactive involvement in the electoral process, staying in constant communication with electoral officers and ensuring any irregularities are addressed immediately.

“Since we started this process, every day I am on the platform with the EOCs. If there is anything, I would correct it,” she added.

 Her firm stance against corruption offers hope to the people of Edo and encourages them to participate in the election process, knowing their votes will count and will also justify them fulfilling their duty.

Gumus’s dedication to transparency and accountability stands as a reminder that trustworthy leadership is still possible in Nigeria’s political landscape.
