Elon Musk has denied allegations of a romantic affair with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni after pictures of them together surfaced online, causing a scene.
The photos, taken during the Global Citizen Awards in New York City, showed Musk and Meloni sharing a moment, with one image capturing Musk touching her shoulder, sparking rumors of a relationship with their reactions toward each other at the event.
Social media users quickly speculated, with one person writing, “Find someone who looks at you the same way the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni looks at Elon Musk.” the text states.
However, Musk swiftly addressed the rumors, denying any romantic involvement with Meloni, the prime minister.
“I was there with my mom. There is no romantic relationship whatsoever with PM Meloni,” Musk wrote on his X, formerly Twitter, account in response to the viral post.
The two have met several times before, including a meeting at Meloni’s official residence in Rome last year.
Meanwhile, neither Meloni nor her representatives have commented on the situation, leaving the public to speculate on their view on the incident.
In spite of the rumors, Musk’s denial has not yet fully put the speculation to rest, though it highlights the scrutiny public figures face in their personal and professional lives.
