VDM Challenges Femi Falana’s Defamation Lawsuit, Demands Bobrisky Be Held Accountable Too

Social critic Martins Otse, popularly known as Very Dark Man (VDM), has responded to Femi Falana’s statement on Channels TV, where the renowned human rights lawyer vowed to pursue a civil defamation case against him due to the untrue stories he had cooked up through the audio clip.

Falana had demanded a retraction and apology for alleged defamation of both his and his son’s, Falz’s, characters after an audio clip circulated by VDM implied the Falanas had connections with crossdresser Bobrisky’s money laundering issue.

However, in his response, VDM stated he was unbothered by the lawsuit threat, arguing that his focus remains on the fight against institutional corruption in Nigeria, which has given space for this kind of act to occur.

“If you are serving me a letter, you must serve Bobrisky as well,” VDM said, suggesting that the crossdresser, who allegedly made the claims in the audio, should also be held accountable.

Bobrisky, however, has denied the authenticity of the audio, claiming it was generated by artificial intelligence (AI).

Meanwhile, Seun Kuti and others have urged VDM to issue an apology to the Falanas, emphasizing the lawyer’s clean reputation.

Kuti stated, “It’s important to respect boundaries and verify facts before sharing sensitive information.”

As the situation escalates, it remains unclear whether VDM will offer the requested apology or face the legal consequences of his actions.
