Newlywed Husband Arrested for St@bbing Wife to DEath and Setting Home on Fire in Lagos

A man, Motunrayo Olaniyi, 30, has been arrested by the Lagos State police for allegedly st@bbing his 25-year-old wife, Olajumoke, to death during an altercation at their residence in Amazing Grace Estate, Elepe, Ikorodu, on Friday, October 4.

 According to the police, after the brutal act, Olaniyi locked her body in the room and set the house on fire before attempting to harm himself.

Police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin revealed that a distress call was made to the Ikorodu Division, prompting a swift response from the police.

“They found Olajumoke’s lifeless body with multiple abdominal wounds,” Hundeyin said.

Olaniyi was rescued from the scene, treated for self-inflicted injuries, and is currently in police custody.

 The victim’s body has been sent to the Ikorodu General Hospital morgue for autopsy as investigations continue.

The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
