FCT Police Spokesperson Clarifies Public Misconception: “No One Can Just Order Arrests”

The spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, has made a public statement clarifying that no individual has the authority to “order” the police to make an arrest.

Adeh emphasized that police actions are based on thorough investigations and not driven by personal vendettas or influence.

She addressed the public in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), urging influencers, bloggers, and vloggers to stop spreading misinformation about how the police operate.

Adeh explained, “The police act on real investigations, not personal vendettas. If you’re in hot water, cooperate, avail yourself, and tell your side of the story.

Ignoring it could land you in serious trouble, no matter who you think you are.”

She further warned the public that misinformation about the police force could lead to more confusion and misunderstandings between law enforcement and citizens.

Her statement likely came in response to criticisms that the police have been accused of not fulfilling their duties effectively or acting on time after receiving information.

While some argue that the police don’t respond promptly to reported issues, Adeh’s statement aims to correct any misunderstandings, encouraging both the police and citizens to fulfill their responsibilities for better cooperation and justice.
