Nollywood actress Toyin Adegbola, popularly known as Toyin Tomato, has advised married women to remain in their marriages regardless of how challenging or “mad” their husbands might be.
Speaking in Yoruba during a recent conversation, the actress emphasized the importance of staying in one’s matrimonial home, urging women to endure for the sake of their future and their children.
Toyin Tomato explained that leaving a marriage can lead to complications later in life, particularly when children grow older and significant family events arise.
“No matter how’m@d’ your husband is, never think of sending him out nor you packing out of your matrimonial home because it will end in a begging spree when your kids want to do something important in the future,” she stated.
The actress also noted that even when things get difficult, women should focus on protecting themselves and seeking compromise rather than looking for a way out.
Furthermore, Toyin Tomato emphasized that men should view their wives as their “firstborns,” just as women often do with their husbands.
She urged both men and women to exercise patience and wisdom in their marriages, noting that what is revealed in relationships is often selective.
“It is what we want you to see that you will see,” she concluded, encouraging women to be resilient and work towards maintaining harmony in their homes.
