Trina McGee, best known for her role on “Boy Meets World,” recently revealed that she suffered a miscarriage after announcing her pregnancy earlier this year at age 54.
McGee shared the emotional news during an appearance on “The Tamron Hall Show,” explaining that the loss occurred toward the end of her first trimester.
“I did lose the baby,” McGee said. “It wasn’t expected… We really don’t have any real reasons why.”
In spite of the heartbreaking experience, McGee expressed gratitude for the opportunity to conceive at her age, saying,
“I was still so grateful to have the experience of being able to conceive at this age and this time.”
However, she admitted the emotional toll of the loss, explaining how difficult it was to cope with her dreams of completing her family slipping away.
“It was just kind of hard to get out of bed… There are many dreams that you have,” she shared.
Moreover, McGee acknowledged the support she’s received from other women and revealed her decision to focus on love rather than forcing another pregnancy.
“Part of me doesn’t ever want to go through this again,” she said.
“But then a part says, ‘Ah.’… Sometimes it really is better to let go and let God.”
McGee and her husband, Marcello Thedford, have also expressed plans to foster a young girl from Belize, continuing to focus on building their family in any way possible.
