Singer Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko, popularly known as AG Baby and Adekunle Gold, has voiced his concern over the alarming rise in femicide and violence against women in Nigeria, urging men to take responsibility and hold each other accountable.
In a statement shared on social media, the artist emphasized that real strength comes not from silence but from confronting and addressing the abusive actions of fellow men.
He wrote, “Men, true strength is not about staying silent but about standing up to your friends who abuse, rape, or demean women. Let’s redefine masculinity by holding each other accountable. #JusticeForChristianah.”
Adekunle Gold’s message follows the tragic cases of two Nigerian girls, including the brutal attack and assault on a 14-year-old girl by 15-year-old Goodluck Bison and the murder of 300-level student Christianah Idowu by her friend Ayomide Ayodele, who had abducted and killed her after demanding ransom from her family.
The singer’s call to action highlights the growing need for society to step up, especially men, in confronting toxic behaviors that perpetuate violence against women.
The rising cases of femicide and sexual assault in Nigeria have sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for justice and swift action.
