Activist Aisha Yesufu has addressed accusations that she is attempting to bring down social critic Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Very Dark Man (VDM).
The allegations arose following her support of the Falana family, who have demanded an apology and retraction from VDM over comments made in a viral audio recording.
In the recording, VDM questioned the Falanas’ alleged association with crossdresser Bobrisky, leading to widespread controversy.
Yesufu took to social media platform X to dismiss claims that she is involved in any plot to undermine VDM.
She clarified that her stance is not about personal vendettas but about ensuring fairness and respect for people’s reputations.
“I have just seen an accusation that all I am interested in is to bring VDM down…
I do not want to help people. I just want people to not need my help,” Yesufu wrote, adding that no one has the right to tarnish someone’s hard-earned name.
Meanwhile, Aisha emphasized that defending one’s name is crucial and should not be seen as an act of aggression.
She condemned the notion that people should “be the bigger person” and ignored defamation.
“That ‘be the bigger person’ nonsense has to stop!” Yesufu declared, urging for a responsible approach to handling sensitive matters that can harm reputations.
