Controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has dismissed claims that he should be labeled an ex-convict following his recent stint in prison.
During an interview with influencer Isbae, Bobrisky clarified that he was sent to a correctional center, not a prison, and therefore refuses to accept the “ex-convict” tag.
Reflecting on his experience, Bobrisky stated,
“I am not an ex-convict because I can’t be convicted for spraying my money. I am not an ex-convict. I wouldn’t accept that.”
He further expressed that, despite attempts to break his spirit, his time in the male correctional center was more of a vacation, which he surprisingly enjoyed.
Bobrisky, who was sentenced to six months in jail in April for Naira abuse, used the opportunity to clarify his stance on the incident that led to his incarceration.
According to him, his decision to spray money at events was his right, and he found it absurd that he was punished for spending his hard-earned money.
“These people really wanted to break me. I have never seen anywhere they sentence someone for spraying their own money,” he stated.
Instead, he vowed to continue his flamboyant lifestyle, announcing that he will now focus on spraying dollars at future events.
Addressing rumors about his time in jail, Bobrisky confirmed that he was held in the male correctional center, where he claims to have been treated well due to his unique presence.
“If they had allowed me to stay in the female correctional center, I wouldn’t have had fun. I wouldn’t have enjoyed myself,” he added.
In spite of the challenges, Bobrisky remains unshaken and is determined to return with even more vigor, aiming to prove his detractors wrong and continue living life on his own terms.
