Buhari Congratulates APC’s Okpebholo on Edo Election Victory, Urges Collaboration for Development

Former President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his congratulations to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and governor-elect Senator Monday Okpebholo for their victory in the Edo State governorship election for the huge success. 

 In a statement shared on his X, formerly Twitter account, Buhari praised the historic win and expressed optimism that the incoming administration would work to further the state’s development and growth while also carrying out the tasks in unity.

 The former president noted the importance of unity between winners and opposition members, saying, 

 “I very much hope the winners and the losers will work together to strengthen democracy and maintain the trajectory of development in the state.” He stated. 

 He further commended law enforcement agencies and election officials who participated in the activities for their role in ensuring a peaceful election process, urging the incoming leadership to embrace the responsibility placed upon them by doing a great job. 

 Buhari concluded by offering his prayers for the continued progress of Nigeria under a democratic system of one love and voice. 

 He emphasized that the new administration has a significant role to play in upholding the expectations of the people in doing a better job and driving sustainable development for Edo State as a whole.
