Edo State Governor-elect, Matthew Okpebholo, expressed his deep appreciation by kneeling in front of President Bola Tinubu during a visit to Aso Rock on Thursday, September 26, following his victory in the recent gubernatorial election.
The gesture was a public display of gratitude for the unwavering support from the president and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the campaign.
Okpebholo acknowledged that teamwork and unity within the party played a critical role in his successful election.

Okpebholo’s visit to Aso Rock was accompanied by prominent APC figures, including the national chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and several party governors such as Hope Uzodimma, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Uba Sani, and Dapo Abiodun.
The delegation also included Edo leaders like Senator Adams Oshiomhole and Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, emphasizing the collective effort that brought the party to victory in Edo State.
In spite of some opposition to the APC’s victory, Okpebholo reassured the people of Edo that his administration would prioritize their welfare, security, and economic growth.
He promised to work diligently to earn the trust of the public, stating his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and addressing the concerns of all citizens, regardless of political affiliations.
