EFCC Arrests 14 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Benue, Recovers Charms and Gadgets

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have made significant strides in their ongoing efforts to combat internet fraud, arresting 14 suspected fraudsters in a sting operation in Makurdi, Benue State.

The operation, conducted by the EFCC’s Makurdi Zonal Directorate on August 21, 2024, targeted individuals involved in fraudulent activities at the Federal Lowcost Housing Estate, following actionable intelligence reports.

The suspects are believed to have been involved in various online scams that have victimized many innocent people.

The names of the arrested suspects include Austine Okwori, Osita Idoko Valentine, Skott King David, and several others, highlighting the scale of the operation.

Items recovered from the suspects included phones, laptops, and even charms, indicating the extent of their involvement in illicit activities.

The EFCC has emphasized that the suspects will face legal consequences as investigations progress, with charges to be filed in court once all evidence is gathered.
