The House of Representatives has invited social critic Martins Vincent Otse, aka Very Dark Man, to appear before its investigation panel on Monday, September 30, over bribery allegations against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Last week, VeryDarkMan released an audio clip in which crossdresser Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, claimed to have bribed EFCC officials with N15 million to drop the money laundering case against him.
In the audio clip, Bobrisky also claimed to have spent his six-month jail term in an apartment secured for him by his godfather rather than in Kirikiri prison as directed by the court.
The House of Representatives is now investigating these allegations and has invited VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky, and EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede to appear before its joint committees.
Very DarkMan’s counsel, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed that his client will be at the National Assembly on Monday to assist in the investigation.
However, the investigation aims to clarify the allegations and avoid any guesswork that could implicate both aware and unaware workers.
The government is expected to draw a line on what citizens and media personnel can and cannot do to make the decision well-respected and official.
The outcome of the investigation will be crucial in ensuring that the truth is told and those involved in the issue are caught.
As the investigation unfolds, it is essential to remember that allegations are not yet proven and that all parties involved deserve a fair hearing.
The case has sparked intense debate on social media, with many calling for transparency and accountability in the investigation process.
