Ethel Kennedy, the 96-year-old widow of Robert F. Kennedy, is receiving medical care following a stroke she suffered last Thursday, according to her grandson, Joe Kennedy III, who made it public as a result of the fear of losing her.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, Joe Kennedy confirmed that his grandmother, who had enjoyed an active summer with family, was brought to a hospital after the stroke, where she is now receiving treatment, which is somehow painful to see her that way because she deserves a painless death considering how she has lived her life.
Kennedy’s grandson expressed gratitude for the quality of care she is receiving, noting that Ethel is “comfortable” and surrounded by her loving family, which alone is something to hold onto to keep you pushing and striving hard to survive.
He also requested privacy for the family while they navigate this challenging time, asking for continued thoughts and prayers to make them all pull through this tough time.

Ethel Kennedy, who married Robert F. Kennedy in 1950, dedicated her life to environmental and human rights causes, leaving a lasting legacy through her work with the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Organization, which fought for the freedom of people by helping them live a comfortable and peaceful life.
Therefore, it is time to keep them going also by watching out for them and praying for the family for strength to overcome.
President Barack Obama honored her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2014 for her contributions to these causes.
