Nigerian rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has demanded an immediate retraction and apology from social activist VeryDarkMan (VDM), after the latter made derogatory remarks involving him in the ongoing Bobrisky bribery saga.
The controversy began when VDM released an audio clip on September 24, where Bobrisky claimed that Falz and his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana, attempted to secure a presidential pardon for him.
VDM further questioned Falz’s integrity and implied an inappropriate association with Bobrisky, including baseless suggestions about Falz’s personal life.

Falz, visibly upset by the damaging comments, clarified that while Bobrisky had indeed reached out to him requesting N3 million to secure a VIP section in prison, he declined to provide any financial assistance.
Through his father’s legal chambers, Falz stated that VDM’s comments wrongly portrayed him as corrupt and undermined his reputation as a human rights activist.
The rapper has given VDM 24 hours to retract his statement and issue a public apology across all platforms where the defamatory claims were spread.
Furthermore, Falz’s legal team warned that failure to meet this ultimatum would lead to legal action, including claims for monetary damages.
This case has sparked discussions about the importance of verifying information before publicizing it online, with Falz seeking to ensure that false narratives do not tarnish his image or career.
