Filmmaker Ugezu Ugezu Responds to Backlash for Skipping Acquaintance’s Dog Birthday Party

Nigerian filmmaker Ugezu Ugezu has expressed his disbelief after an acquaintance became upset over his absence from her dog’s birthday party, which he was invited to.

 In a post shared on social media, Ugezu explained that he had stopped attending birthday parties for personal reasons and was shocked to be criticized for not attending the event, especially considering that professionals attended the gathering, which to him might not be a necessity or may not see the need to that. 

 “For years now, I have not attended any birthday party for reasons best known to me,” Ugezu shared, adding that he was surprised that his absence from a dog’s celebration had caused such offense, which is not a matter that was to be escalated; it is just a matter that requires understanding. 

 “Finally, someone is angry that I did not attend her dog’s birthday party. My eyes have actually seen my ears.”

 Ugezu’s comments suggest that the filmmaker values personal discipline and prioritizes a more purposeful life, focusing on what matters to him more than any other thing that he requires. 

 He highlighted that not every occasion demands attendance, and individuals should maintain boundaries, ensuring that people respect their personal choices so that unnecessary energy can be prevented from spreading.
