Footballer Rafa Mir Suspended from Valencia Training Amid Alleged Sexual Assault Case

Valencia footballer Rafa Mir has been banned from training following his arrest on suspicion of alleged sexual assault against a 25-year-old woman.

The former Wolves striker, who is currently on loan from Sevilla, was released on bail this week after spending two days in police custody.

Conditions of his bail include surrendering his passport, a restraining order preventing contact with the alleged victim, and weekly check-ins at the courthouse.

Mir’s lawyer, Jaime Campaner, has insisted that the relationship was “without a doubt” consensual.

Valencia Football Club confirmed Mir’s arrest in a statement, saying they are aware of the situation and will cooperate fully with any court requirements.

The club has banned Mir from attending training sessions on Thursday and Friday, using the international break to assess the player’s future.

“In the absence of further details, the club is prepared to cooperate fully with the legal authorities,” the club said.

Coach Ruben Baraja is expected to analyze the situation further before making any decisions.

The alleged assault reportedly took place at a private party at Mir’s residence after meeting the woman at a nightclub.

While the case continues, Mir’s suspension from training signals the seriousness of the allegations, and the legal process will determine the consequences.
