All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has publicly acknowledged the prevailing economic hardship in Nigeria, revealing that he has had to make significant lifestyle adjustments.
In a post shared on Saturday, September 21, Igbokwe disclosed that he no longer drives his car or goes out as often, while also switching off 70% of electrical appliances in his home to cope with the rising cost of living.
“I am adjusting to the new reality. I cannot deceive myself,” he admitted.
His statements highlight the growing financial struggles faced by many Nigerians, even those in positions of influence.
Moreover, Igbokwe’s admission adds weight to the public outcry for economic reforms and tangible solutions from the government.
The APC chieftain’s acknowledgment of hardship comes at a time when fuel prices are skyrocketing and many Nigerians are facing difficulties meeting their daily needs.
Furthermore, his comments highlight the growing gap between government promises and real change.
Igbokwe’s statement serves as a reminder that while political leaders are also feeling the pressure, the government must urgently address the worsening economic situation, particularly for the average citizen who may not have the resources to survive these trying times.
“Life na teacher ooooo”
Igbokwe remarked, indicating that Nigerians must adapt to the harsh reality while awaiting government intervention.
