Iba Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, has expressed deep frustration with the administration of President Bola Tinubu, accusing the government of being indifferent and unresponsive to the economic plight of Nigerians.
In an open letter, Adams voiced his disappointment, citing the escalating fuel prices and the devaluation of the naira since Tinubu took office.
He noted that many Nigerians who had believed Tinubu would bring relief from the previous administration’s hardships have been left disillusioned due to the economic crisis.
“Mr. President, to say the truth without minding whose ox is gored, you have disappointed many Nigerians who thought you were thMessiah they were waiting for,” Adams wrote out of pain.
He pointed out that fuel prices have surged from less than N200 to over N1,000, and the naira has drastically fallen against the dollar under Tinubu’s watch as both the President and Petroleum Minister, which doesn’t sound amazing regarding the current situation.

Adams further expressed concerns about rising insecurity and the repression of peaceful protests, stating that the government’s actions show a lack of sensitivity to the people’s struggles.
He warned that continuing with the current policies, especially the recent fuel price hikes, could lead to a larger crisis, urging the administration to consider the citizens’ suffering and hardship.
