Dele Momodu, a renowned media personality, has expressed shock and mortification at Senator Adams Oshiomhole’s recent comment about Governor Godwin Obaseki and his wife being childless.
Momodu described the comment as “horrendous” and “depressing,” emphasizing that being childless is not a crime.
He prayed that Oshiomhole finds the courage to apologize publicly for his “tantrum.”

Oshiomhole’s comment was made in response to Mrs. Obaseki’s introduction of the PDP candidate’s wife, Ifeyinwa Ighodalo, at a campaign event.
Mrs. Obaseki highlighted the importance of having a woman in the government house, which Oshiomhole took as an opportunity to mock the Obasekis’ childless marriage.
Momodu felt that Oshiomhole’s statement was uncalled for, stating,
“You could easily have said your candidate has a wife and children and left it there, but you went too far in this diatribe.”
Momodu cautioned that people should be mindful of their words, especially in public, as they can be hurtful and depressing.
He emphasized that only God gives children, and it’s not for humans to judge or use as a political tool.
He quoted, “Is it more than politics?!!” highlighting the need for respect and sensitivity towards individuals’ personal lives.
Momodu’s plea to Oshiomhole to apologize publicly serves as a reminder that public figures should be aware of the impact of their words on others.
