Mikel Arteta Signs New Three-Year Deal with Arsenal, Extending Contract to 2027

Mikel Arteta has signed a new three-year contract with Arsenal, keeping him at the club until 2027.

The 42-year-old manager, who has been in charge since 2019, has overseen Arsenal’s resurgence, guiding them to two successive second-place Premier League finishes.

His previous deal was set to expire within the next 12 months, but the new agreement ensures his continued leadership as the club looks to build on recent successes.

Arteta expressed his pride and excitement about the extension, stating,

“I feel extremely proud, very excited, and am looking forward to what is coming next.

I’m proud to be where I am and have the relationships that I have with everyone at the club.”

Reflecting on his time with the Gunners, he acknowledged the critical role of the supporters, saying,

“Our supporters have transformed individuals, and we are different now.

You can tell that we are different, and for me, that is down to them.”

Under Arteta’s guidance, Arsenal secured the FA Cup in 2020 and two Community Shields in 2020 and 2023.

The 2023/24 season saw the team win 28 Premier League games, the highest number in the club’s history, while they returned to Champions League competition for the first time since the 2016/17 season.

Arteta’s journey has demonstrated steady progress each year, with 33 additional points gained since his arrival, marking him as a transformative figure for the club.
