A gas explosion in the home of Nigerian journalist Abdulkareem Haruna has left a newborn baby in a coma, and two others sustained serious injuries, which must have hurt a lot and caused grave pain.
The explosion, which occurred on Monday, September 30, was reportedly caused by a faulty gas cylinder as the family prepared for the newborn’s naming ceremony in joy and now encountered the opposite.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, as it was so unexpected and unacceptable for such action to have taken place.
According to Hamza Suleiman, a colleague of Haruna, the explosion tore through the kitchen, leaving significant damage.
