Nigerian journalist Ajibade Owefoso, who worked as the Imo State correspondent for Trust TV, has tragically passed away in his sleep over the weekend.
His lifeless body was discovered in his Lagos apartment on Saturday morning, September 7, after concerned neighbors forced open his door to figure out what was wrong.
Ajibade was a lively, hardworking, committed, and devoted reporter who lived in Imo State with his wife and three small children whom he left behind.
The sudden passing of Owefoso has left a void in the journalistic community, with colleagues and prominent figures expressing their grief over his sudden death.
Chief Operating Officer Ibrahim Shehu Adamu, of Trust TV, shared,
“His sudden passing is a profound loss to all of us at Trust TV.
Ajibade’s journalistic excellence and engaging reporting style made him a valuable member of our team,” emphasizing how Owefoso’s energy and dedication brought stories to life through his vibrant reporting and passion for the great work.
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma also paid tribute, calling Owefoso a
“Hardworking, committed, and God-fearing journalist,” he stated.
He further extended his heartfelt condolences to the journalist’s family during this difficult time, acknowledging the loss felt by Owefoso’s children and the journalistic community he left behind to continue the great work.
