No Life Lost as Fire Guts Fuel Station in Enugu, Investigation Launched

A fire broke out at a filling station on Agbani Road, Enugu, on the morning of Friday, September 20, 2024, which has got people talking.

The fire was quickly extinguished through the swift intervention of federal and state fire services and for the sake of others who sought help for the filling station. 

Thankfully, no lives were lost in the incident, though three vehicles in the queue to purchase fuel were damaged as a result of the heavy fire that occurred.

The Enugu State Police have since restored order to the area to ensure precautions and safety of other community members. 

 Preliminary reports from the police suggest that the fire may have been triggered by a fuel leak from one of the vehicles buying fuel at the station but were not sensitive enough to figure out.

The Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu, was on the scene with his team and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State CID to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

 Authorities have emphasized the importance of vehicle maintenance and caution at fuel stations to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Further details of the incident are still being investigated and will be released in due course.
