Controversial Nigerian prophet Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has sparked outrage after threatening to use divine power to harm those who speak against him on social media in an inappropriate manner that is not welcomed by him.
In a recent video shared with his congregation, Odumeje boldly declared that he does not report his critics to the authorities but rather relies on spiritual powers to eliminate them if they continue to challenge him wrongfully in the media.
“When you come out for me on social media, speak against me once, I watch you… by the fourth and fifth time, I know you’re ready for me,” Odumeje said.
He further added, “If I don’t kill you, know that Jesus is not a true God.” His statement was met with applause from his church members who supported his decision, right or wrong.
Odumeje’s threatening statements have raised concerns about the potential impact on his followers and the public, which could damage his reputation in a way because the matter doesn’t seem handled with calmness.
Critics argue that his actions contradict Christian teachings, calling for love and forgiveness, not violence. In other words, he should live an example of a Christ-like life.
Some fear his comments may lead others to lose faith, highlighting the need for wisdom in leadership roles instead of violence.
