The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has suspended Senator Dino Melaye over allegations of anti-party activities and misconduct.
The decision was swiftly carried out by the party’s ward executive committee in Ayetoro/Iluagba Ward 1 following a review of the findings from the disciplinary committee established to investigate Melaye’s actions.

This move, according to party officials, was aimed at preventing further disruptions that could harm the party’s reputation and cohesion.
In an official letter signed by Ward Chairman Abayomi Osamika and Ward Secretary Yodson Dayo, the ward excos stated that Melaye’s conduct had caused “embarrassment and disrepute” to the PDP.
They further explained that his membership had become untenable due to his alleged betrayals.
The letter read, “Senator Dino Melaye’s conduct has brought embarrassment and disrepute to the party, and his continued membership is no longer tenable. Therefore, the Ward party exco hereby suspends Dino Melaye from the Peoples Democratic Party, effective immediately.”
The suspension was enforced in accordance with Article 59(1) of the PDP constitution, which grants the ward excos authority to discipline members found guilty of misconduct.
This action serves as a message to other members, underlining the importance of loyalty and unity within the party and demonstrating the PDP’s commitment to maintaining order and discipline among its ranks.
