Presidents Bola Tinubu of Nigeria and Teodoro Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea inked a major deal pertaining to the Gulf of Guinea Pipeline Project on Wednesday in Malabo.
According to Ajuri Ngelale, a spokesman for President Tinubu, the partnership intends to strengthen legislative and regulatory procedures for gas development, with potential benefits for employment and natural resource management.
During his three-day official visit, President Tinubu stressed the agreement’s wider significance.
“We are all going for it, he said. Africa and the African Union have decided to cooperate in order to ensure that many of the continent’s challenges are internally solved.”
The two leaders’ conversations extended beyond the pipeline, addressing critical issues such as security, the African Continental Free Trade Area, and food security.
Additionally, the agreement was also signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar of Nigeria, and Mr. Simeon Esono, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Equatorial Guinea.
In conclusion with the agreement, the two nations aim to strengthen their ties and prioritize the well-being of their citizens by focusing on food provision and enhancing security measures.
