Owodunni Ibrahim, better known as Primeboy, a close friend of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has threatened to take legal action against the artist’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba, over alleged defamatory statements.
According to Primeboy’s lawyer, Akinpelu Ogunbona, Mohbad’s mother granted an interview where she accused Primeboy of having frequent altercations with her late son and advised him to flee after Mohbad’s death to avoid suspicion.
In a statement released by his legal team, Primeboy described the comments as defamatory, asserting that the claims had severely damaged his reputation and career.
“Your actions are deliberate to injure and traduce the integrity of our client, who is a rising star in the music industry,” the statement reads, emphasizing that the allegations have “greatly and negatively impacted the affection and love” he had been receiving from his fans and well-wishers.
Primeboy has given Mohbad’s mother a seven-day ultimatum to retract her statements or face legal consequences.
Some supporters, however, have urged both parties to resolve the matter amicably, arguing that the mother’s pain may have influenced her comments and that a legal battle could further complicate the situation.
“Let bygones be bygones,” one fan suggested, highlighting the need for peace and closure following Mohbad’s untimely death.
