Prophet Timothy Michael of a new generation church in Zimbabwe was arrested during a church service on Saturday, September 21, for allegedly kissing a female congregant without her consent.
The unexpected arrest left many of his followers in disbelief, as some initially thought it was part of his sermon or a staged act. However, the prophet now faces potential charges of sexual abuse.
According to reports, this was not the first time such allegations have been made against Prophet Michael.
Sources familiar with the situation revealed that the prophet had a history of inappropriate behavior toward female congregants, raising concerns about his leadership and conduct.

Although Mashonaland West provincial police spokesperson Inspector Ian Kohwera had not yet received an official report on the arrest, a senior church member, Vongai Jowo, confirmed the prophet’s arrest, though she declined to provide further details.
Meanwhile, this incident has sparked conversations about the role of religious leaders and their responsibility to uphold moral standards.
Many argue that Prophet Michael’s actions if proven true, should serve as a cautionary tale for other religious figures to lead by example and avoid exploiting their followers.
“Religious leaders are meant to set an example of integrity and morality.
Misusing one’s position to take advantage of others should be met with the appropriate consequences,” said a concerned congregant.
