The Chairman of Royal Estate in Alimosho Local Government, Mr. Williams Adeyemi, has issued a formal apology on behalf of the estate’s residents to the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) and its Mosan Okunola District Head, Arc. Sayo Omisore.
This gesture follows a controversial publication in ”The Punch” newspaper on July 26th, 2024, where residents alleged brutalization during building control enforcement, a claim that has since been acknowledged as misleading and factually inaccurate.

Mr. Adeyemi expressed deep regret over the publication, emphasizing that it did not reflect the collective views or intentions of the Royal Estate community.
He acknowledged that the statements made were not only incorrect but also unfair to the individuals and institutions involved.
In his apology, Adeyemi highlighted the importance of LASBCA’s role in ensuring building safety across Lagos State and commended the agency for its dedication to safeguarding lives and properties.
“The work that LASBCA does is invaluable, and as responsible residents, we are committed to supporting their efforts in any way we can,” he added.
This apology by the estate chairman showcases his commitment to maintaining transparency and a positive relationship between the residents and government agencies, setting an example for other leaders to prioritize the well-being and the safety of their communities.
