Senator Akpabio Heartbroken Over Ubah’s Death

The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has expressed profound shock and grief over the sudden death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, describing the late senator as a dedicated and patriotic colleague.

Akpabio, who recalled his reaction upon hearing the news, said he was deeply jolted and could not complete the initial conversation due to the overwhelming shock.

“We never thought Senator Ubah would die in the next 40 years, but who are we to question God?” he remarked.

Addressing Ubah’s family, Akpabio acknowledged the heavy responsibility now resting on his widow, particularly raising their children without their father.

He urged the children to honor their father’s memory and take solace in the fact that they are alive to carry on his legacy.

“Be proud that you are alive to bury your father and not the other way around,” Akpabio told them, emphasizing the strength and support they would need in the days ahead.

Akpabio, accompanied by several senators, including Senate Minority Whip Osita Ngwu and others, assured the family that the 10th Senate stood by them and would support them in giving Senator Ubah a befitting burial.

Reflecting on Ubah’s character, Akpabio noted that the strong turnout from his colleagues is a testament to the late senator’s discipline and transparency. “He left so many legacies. May his soul rest in peace,” Akpabio concluded, offering his condolences on behalf of the Senate.
