Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has clarified his stance regarding the recent controversial audio shared by social critic Very Dark Man (VDM), which involved Bobrisky, Falz, and his father Femi Falana.
Seun took to social media on Thursday, October 4, 2024, to explain that while he shares a friendship with VDM, he had no control over the critic’s actions and never intended to disrespect his late father’s lawyer, Femi Falana, for any reason whatsoever.
Kuti revealed that VDM informed him verbally about the audio but never played the content.
“I wasn’t conniving, and I did not have any ulterior motive because I am the one that still came out to say he told me before he said it,” Kuti explained.
He expressed regret if his association with VDM had offended Falana, adding, “It is really not my intention.
I will not, in any way, shape, or form, want to join anybody—even VDM—to fight Uncle Femi Falana.”
However, Kuti stressed that he has no input in VDM’s posts or content, saying,
“Am I VDM’s producer? Does he write what he wants to say to me for approval?”
He urged both VDM and Falz, whom he considers younger brothers, to resolve the issue amicably.
Kuti’s stance has been widely appreciated by fans, who praised his decision to remain neutral and not escalate the conflict.
