Three Killed, One Injured in Gunmen Attack on Islamic School in Yobe

Three students were tragically killed, and one was injured in a violent attack on Faudiya Islamic Boarding School in Geidam, Yobe State, in the early hours of August 30. 

 The assailants believed to be Boko Haram terrorists invaded the school at approximately 4 a.m., arriving on motorcycles and armed with AK-47 rifles.

 The Yobe State Police Command confirmed the attack, with spokesperson DSP Dungus Abdulkarim stating, 

 “The school belongs to the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (Shi’ite). When police received the distress call and rushed to the school, they discovered three students had been killed, while one was injured and is currently receiving medical treatment at Geidam Specialists Hospital.”

 The victims have been identified as Muhammadu Saleh, 22, Ahmed Abdulrahman, 21, and Abdullahi Adamu, 21. 

 The injured student, Sani Haruna, 25, is receiving medical care. 

 The tragic incident highlights the urgent need for justice, and the attackers must be swiftly brought to justice to deter future atrocities and restore public confidence in the nation’s security forces.

 This brutal attack highlights the persistent threat of terrorism in the region, particularly from Boko Haram, which has a long history of targeting educational institutions and civilians in the northern parts of Nigeria. 

 The group’s aim to disrupt normalcy and instill fear among the population remains a significant challenge for the government and security agencies.
