Tragedy Strikes: Patoranking’s Sister and Brother-in-Law Die in Gas Explosion

A devastating gas explosion has claimed the lives of Patoranking’s sister, Chioma, and her husband, George Onuabuchi, leaving their three-year-old son behind.

The tragic incident occurred on August 25 in Abakaliki, Ebonyi, and has sent shockwaves through the community.

The Police Command confirmed that the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder, not an inverter battery.

The news is particularly painful as the young couple’s death leaves their child without parents.

The family and community are struggling to come to terms with the loss.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Joshua Ukandu stated, “It happened in the Waterworks area of Abakaliki on August 25.

Residents living nearby alerted our personnel, who visited the scene, but the couple had already been taken to the hospital.”

Unfortunately, both victims succumbed to their injuries, with Chioma passing away in August and George in September.

The community is in mourning, and the news has left many in disbelief.

However, the fact that the children will have to grow up without their parents is a heartbreaking reality.

As Ukandu said, “The cause of death was a gas explosion, not an inverter explosion.”

We can only imagine the pain the family is going through.

Our thoughts are with Patoranking and his family during this difficult time.

May the souls of Chima and George rest in perfect peace.
