WhatsApp Chat Between Suspected Killer and Friends of Slain FUNAAB Student Surfaces Online

A WhatsApp conversation between Adeleye Ayomide, the suspected killer of 300-level Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) student Christianah Idowu, and her friends has surfaced online, shedding light on his deceptive behavior.

Christianah, who had been abducted on August 19, 2024, while heading for her industrial training at the University of Lagos, was allegedly murdered by Ayomide, a close friend, after he demanded a ransom from her family.

The suspect initially demanded N3 million but later collected N350,000 without releasing her.

In the conversation, Ayomide pretended to be concerned about Christianah’s whereabouts and expressed shock at her abduction, even though he was the one responsible for the crime.

He maintained communication with her friends, feigning ignorance of her kidnapping.

In one message, he wrote, “Guyyy, have you heard about Christiana? She’s been kidnapped too. God, I’m just hearing now.” His coldhearted attempts to blend into the group chat, despite his role in the crime, shocked many.

The tragic incident serves as a reminder that people must be cautious about whom they trust, especially within their circles.

It highlights the importance of informing close relatives about one’s movements for safety and the need for students to be vigilant.

Many have called for increased self-defense training, particularly for women, as a protective measure against such incidents.
