Yoruba movie producer and director, Shina Sanyaolu, has passed away, leaving a profound impact on the Nigerian film industry.
The president of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr. Latin, confirmed the sad news on Instagram.
Tributes from colleagues and fellow actors have poured in, recognizing his immense contributions and warm spirit. “Sleep well, Uncle Shina Sanyaolu,” Mr. Latin wrote, expressing the collective grief of the industry.

Veteran actor Prince Jide Kosoko also paid tribute to the late filmmaker, remembering him as a man of generosity and compassion.
Kosoko shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, writing, “Shina Sanyaolu was not just a remarkable man; he was a beacon of kindness and warmth to all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
He highlighted Sanyaolu’s support for Nigerian actors during their travels, particularly to the UK, where Sanyaolu offered shelter, comfort, and guidance to his colleagues.
Sanyaolu’s passing has left a void in the Yoruba film industry, but his legacy of kindness and dedication will be remembered for years to come.
As Jide Kosoko added, “Your impact will never be forgotten, and your memory will forever be cherished.”
