“Giwa Gardens is not safe, go there at your own risk” – Businesswoman says after sustaining injuries at newly opened waterpark

Businesswoman, Mrs. Masidat Kassim has come out to warn Nigerians about newly opened waterpark, Giwa Gardens in Lagos and how it isn’t safe.

Mrs. Kassim had gone to the waterpark with her family to have fun over the weekend, however, she left with lip injury after hitting her head in the pool.

According to her, she first hit the back of her head at the river because it was shallow before hitting her head in the pool as she used the slide.

The alleged that the lifeguards there are not well trained and they do not have safety precautions.

She called on the Lagos State Government and other necessary authorities to visit the facility and do proper safety assessments so as to prevent further incidents.

Giwa Gardens located in Sangotedo, Lekki/Ajah Lagos was launched on the 16th of December which was only a few days ago.

Commenting on the incident, the Lagos State Safety Commission in an Instagram post has said that a safety risk assessment has been carried by the commission and recommended were issued.

The commission also mentioned that the incident is being investigated and that they are determined to get to the root.

The management of Giwa Gardens in an Instagram apologized to the public over the incident as they pledged to work with the Lagos State Safety Commission to add extra layers of safety precautions.

They also announced that the park has been temporarily closed while they take safety measures.
