Police Deny Explosive Rumors Near Trump Rally Amid Growing Assassination Threats

New York police have dismissed social media rumors claiming explosives were found in a car near the site of former US President Donald Trump’s rally in Uniondale, Long Island, as they have claimed.

“There’s no credibility to that,” a Nassau County Police Department spokesperson told Anadolu on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, his view on the incident.

Trump is scheduled to address supporters at the Nassau Coliseum later in the evening as part of his schedule to bond with people.

This comes just days after the second assassination attempt against Trump in three months, raising concerns about his safety, which should be made paramount so that it doesn’t escalate.

The latest incident occurred on Sunday at Trump’s Florida golf course, where Secret Service agents opened fire after spotting a gunman armed with an AK-47-style rifle.

The suspect, identified as 58-year-old Ryan Routh, was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene of the incident.

The assassination threats are becoming increasingly alarming, which is getting one worried and so furious.

In July, Trump was grazed by a bullet during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

Authorities are under pressure to act swiftly to prevent further attempts, with many calling for harsher measures against those found guilty of plotting attacks against the former president they advised.
